Plugins
The FMDP platform supports a modular plugin architecture that extends core functionality with specialized features. Plugins are self-contained services that integrate with the platform through standardized APIs and configuration patterns.
Overview
Plugins provide additional capabilities such as advanced analytics, third-party integrations, and specialized data processing. They are managed through the Super Admin Portal and configured per-client through the Management Portal.
Plugin Lifecycle
- Upload & Register — A plugin build is uploaded and registered in the platform
- Enable for Client — The plugin is enabled for specific client applications
- Configure — Backend servers, device groups, and vehicle custom fields are configured to support the plugin
- Verify — Integration is validated through data forwarding and sync checks
Managing Plugins
Plugins are managed at two levels:
